IF YOU EAT "COOKED" FOOD,
YOUR BODY NEEDS ENZYMES TO DIGEST IT

COOKED FOOD HAS NO ENZYMES IN IT!!

THIS IS IMPORTANT NEWS FOR ANYONE WHO SUFFERS FROM ALLERGIES AND/OR ASTHMA. As we age (while eating a diet consisting mostly of cooked foods), our bodies become less and less capable of maintaining the required amount of enzymes necessary to digest and assimilate what we eat.

Ever wonder why you used to be able to eat certain foods but now they "don't sit well"? It's not simply due to aging - you're probably suffering from enzyme depletion, resulting in poor digestion. Chronically poor digestion creates chronic illness. The result? Fatigue, Allergies, Constipation, Ulcers, Colitis, Asthma, Arthritis, Obesity, Lymphatic Disorders, Diabetes, Gastro-Intestinal Disorders, Cardiovascular Diseases, and the list goes on and on.

ENZYME FACTS:

  1. All fresh and raw foods have naturally-occurring enzymes.

  2. Cooking food can destroy up to 85 percent of the original nutrients, and it destroys 100 percent of the enzymes in that food.

  3. If you eat food with NO enzymes in it, your body must produce ALL the enzymes required to digest that food.

  4. If you continually eat the same foods every day, your body becomes depleted in the enzymes required to digest that particular food. This creates "allergy" to that food.

  5. Our bodies are not designed with the ability to create enough enzymes to process (digest) a diet consisting of mostly cooked foods.

  6. Undigested foods create toxins in our body, lowering our pH balance to an acidic state.

  7. Undigestable foods (due to lack of enzymes) are the largest contributing factor to asthmatic conditions.

  8. Many hormonal functions (and hormonal balances) are affected by your body's pH balance. Lack of the specific digestive enzymes necessary to process your "chosen" diet can throw your hormones "out-of-whack".

  9. By eating foods with their enzymes intact (fresh and raw) and by supplementing cooked foods with enzyme capsules, we can help slow abnormal and pathological aging processes.

Here is what some experts have said about the value of enzymes in our diets:

" 'enzyme' is the most promising word in research today. Many researchers are convinced that virtually all disease can be traced to missing or faulty enzymes."
- Today's Health, American Medical Association

"To say that the body can easily digest and assimilate cooked foods may someday prove to be the most grievous oversight yet committed by science."
- Enzyme Nutrition, Edward Howell, M.D.

"If the organism is supplied with enzymes during the entire lifetime, many diseases of advanced age...would be reduced."
- Dr. Greenburg

"Enzymes may be the key factor in preventing chronic disease and extending the human life-span. In any case, they are most certainly the true yardstick of our vitality."
- Edward Howell, M.D.

"There is no other mechanism in the body except enzyme action to protect the body from any hazard. It is ambiguous to say that "nature cures" when we must know that the only machinery in the body to do anything is enzyme action. Hormones do not work. Vitamins cannot do any work. Minerals were not made to do any work. Proteins cannot work. So it is enzymes that "heal". Therefore, the ability of the body to make any of the numerous enzymes needed for good health and long life must be kept at a high level by the methods incorporated in the food enzyme concept."
- Enzyme Nutrition, Edward Howell, M.D.

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREVENT ENZYME DEPLETION IN MY BODY?

  1. Eat fresh and raw foods as often as possible (minimum 70% fresh and raw, 30% cooked). Try to eat organic. Fruits and vegetables grown in chemically-laden enzyme-depleted soil lack the naturally-occurring enzymes.
  2. Chew your food as long as possible before swallowing. This places less stress on your digestive system. Smaller bits (of food) require fewer enzymes.
  3. Proper food combining will alleviate stress placed on your digestive system.

  4. Fresh and raw nuts and seeds are loaded with enzymes, but also natural "enzyme inhibitors", which prevent the sprouting process. To release the natural enzymes in nuts and seeds and disengage the enzyme inhibitors (making them easier to digest), soak raw nuts and seeds in cold water for 12-24 hours before consuming.
  5. Avoid substances that destroy the enzymes in your body:
    • food additives, coloring, preservatives
    • prescription, over-the-counter, and illegal drugs (aspirin, Tylenol, cocaine)
    • alcohol
    • coffee
    • acidic foods
    • smoking and/or second-hand cigarette smoke.

Broccozym eliminates substances that destroy the enzymes in your body.

  6. Supplement with good quality digestive enzymes. We recommend:
    • Maximizer Digestive Enzymes - for those with heavy digestion, constipation, fatigue, high cholesterol, weight problems, glycemic problems, arthritis, acidosis, bad circulation, etc.
    • Gamma-Zyme - a special formulation without protease, for people who have a more sensitive GI tract that gets easily irritated (ulcers, colitis, gastritis, etc.)
    • Quadra-Zyme Plus - specially good for people suffering from allergies and for athletes, who need to produce more enzymes than most people.
